Le sélectionneur espagnol des Lions du basket Porforio Fisac de Diego a publié jeudi une liste de 12 joueurs retenus pour l’Afrobasket 2017 (8 au 16 septembre), dont Clevin Hannah, le meneur d’origine américaine.
Sangoné Niang n’a pas été retenu dans cette liste qui enregistre le renfort de quatre joueurs appelés à disputer pour la première fois l’Afrobasket, à savoir Clevin Hannah, Youssou Ndoye, Louis Adams et Maurice Ndour.
Autour du capitaine Malèye Ndoye, on retrouve aussi les habitués Thierno Ibrahima Niang, Antoine Mendy, Mouhamed Faye, Djibril Thiam, Gorgui Dieng, Cheikh Tidiane Mbodj et Hammady Ndiaye.
Le Sénégal, co-organisateur avec la Tunisie, est logé dans la poule D de l’Afrobasket 2017, basée à Dakar, en compagnie de l’Egypte, de l’Afrique du Sud et du Mozambique.
La capitale sénégalaise va également abriter la poule B composée de l’Angola, de la République Centrafricaine, le Maroc et l’Ouganda.
