Didier Deschamps restera le Sélectionneur de l’Equipe de France jusqu’à la fin de l’Euro 2020. L’annonce a été faite ce mardi après-midi par Noël Le Graët, président de la Fédération française de football, lors d’une conférence de presse surprise au siège de la FFF. «Pour moi, c’est le meilleur. Il n’y a pas photo. Personne d’autre n’est capable de prendre ce poste. Personne», a notamment insisté Le Graët.
Le contrat de Didier Deschamps, qui a pris la tête des Bleus à l’été 2012, courrait jusqu’à la Coupe du monde en Russie, dont la finale aura lieu le 15 juillet. La décision de la prolongation a été conclue ce lundi, a informé le président de la FFF, après un déjeuner entre les deux hommes la semaine passée.
«L’Equipe de France progresse avec Didier. Je veux lui donner la chance de disputer la Coupe du monde et le prochain Euro. Il travaille énormément. Peu importe les performances des Bleus, il restera le Sélectionneur jusqu’à la fin de l’Euro 2020», a ajouté Le Graët, assurant qu’aucune modification financière n’avait été faite à ce contrat.
