Après enquête de la Fifa, le directeur de jeu a été reconnu coupable de « manipulation » d’un match, pour avoir « influencé illégalement le résultat ». Ce qui relance complètement cette poule D où le Burkina Faso est leader avec 6 points +2, suivi du Cap-Vert (6 points -2) et du Sénégal 5 points +1. L’Afrique du Sud ferme la marche.
