L’affaissement d’une carrière de sable a tué sur le coup trois enfants. Le drame s’est produit ce dimanche matin 09 avril 2017, vers les environs de 10h, au village de Saré Ogo connu administrativement sous l’appellation de Médina Chérif, situé à 81 km à l’est de Kolda sur la RN6.
L’accident est survenu, dit-on, lorsque des enfants au nombre de quatre ont pris une charrette d’âne direction la carrière de sable du village situé non loin des habitations. Une fois sur les lieux, l’un est reste au quai avec l’âne, les trois autres sont se engouffrés dans la carrière. Malheureusement, ils seront tous trois enseveli pour le sable. Ces trois enfants de même famille rendent l’âme sur le coup. Leurs corps sans vie ont été acheminés à la morgue du centre hospitalier régional de Kolda par les sapeurs-pompiers. La gendarmerie a effectué le déplacement pour le constat du drame.
