La faim est l’une des questions les plusrécurrentes dans nossociétés. L’éducation sur la manière de s’alimenter et de sensibiliser la couche ménagère sur la qualité de l‘alimentation est une stratégie à prendre en compte. Presque 90 pourcent de la population sénégalaise, surtout rurale, ne mange pas à sa faim. La consommation, de même que la qualité est à revoir. Dans la zone rurale où l’alimentation est presque basée sur les récoltes et leurs rendements se concentre la couche vulnérable. Aborder une politique d’autosuffisance alimentaire est la meilleure façon de lutter contre la faim dans notre société. Cette dernière, renfermant d’énormes potentialités naturelles et une masse écrasante de jeunes, doit être exploitée pour mieux s’activer aux préoccupations alimentaires de notre pays». L’atelier piloté par l’ancienne ministre Madame Ndioro Ndiaye en compagnie d’un bon nombre departicipants provenant de tous les secteurs en rapport avec les problématiques de la faim, de la nutrition et de la sécurité alimentaire, avait dressé des méthodes en vue de répondre aux atteintes des Objectifs 2 et 17 portés par l’Organisation des nations unies. Cependant, l’objectif général de l’atelier selon Madame Ndioro Ndiaye est de «créer une synergie de tous les acteurs et programmes spécifiques existants». De ce fait, des méthodes telles que mettre en exergue les déterminants fondamentaux de la faim; identifier et créer un consensus sur les indicateurs les plus pertinents pour mesurer la faim au Sénégal ; et formuler un plan d’actions immédiat sur une durée de 6 mois pour la production du rapport final qui répondent aux finalités de la transformation structurelle de l’économie et de la croissance, tirées de l’Axe 1 du Pse sont à aborder». De même, «les dynamiques de la politique alimentaire doivent être des méthodes stratégiques d’assistance alimentaire qu’on met perpétuellement en œuvre dans l’optique d’obtenir des résultats satisfaisants».
