L’état d’urgence en vigueur au Mali, et qui devait expirer samedi, a été prorogé de six mois, jusqu’au 31 octobre par l’Assemblée nationale.
Réunie vendredi, l’Assemblée nationale a prorogé « l’état d’urgence jusqu’au 31 octobre 2017 sur l’ensemble du territoire », le projet de loi « a été voté à l’unanimité des députés présents », a dit cette source, sans plus de détails.
Cette mesure d’exception a été instaurée à plusieurs reprises dans le pays depuis l’attaque jihadiste contre l’hôtel Radisson Blu de Bamako le 20 novembre 2015 (20 morts, outre deux assaillants tués).
Il a été rétabli pour la dernière fois le 19 avril pour dix jours par le gouvernement en raison, selon un communiqué officiel de « la persistance de la menace terroriste ainsi que des risques d’atteinte grave à la sécurité des personnes et de leurs biens ».
L’état d’urgence accorde notamment des possibilités d’intervention accrues aux forces de sécurité et restreint les rassemblements.
Il a été réinstauré après une nouvelle attaque attribuée aux jihadistes le 18 avril à Gourma Rharous, dans la région de Tombouctou (nord), ayant fait cinq morts et « une dizaine de blessés » parmi les soldats maliens, selon un bilan officiel.
La force française Barkhane de lutte contre les jihadistes au Sahel est intervenue et a neutralisé « une dizaine de terroristes », avait indiqué l’état-major français le même jour.
