Pour la Zone Ouest B (1 poste) – la candidature Sita Sangaré (Burkina Faso) a été acceptée. Celles du Libyen Jamal El Jaafri (Zone Nord ; 1 poste), du Centrafricain Patrice Edouard Ngaissona et du Gabonais Pierre Alain Mounguengui (Zone Centre ; 1 poste) ont été également acceptées.
Une seule candidature a été invalidée par le Comité exécutif, pour avoir été expédiée en dehors des délais réglementaires, c’est celle de Bachir Ould Zmirli (Algérie). Une élection sera organisée lors de l’Assemblée générale ordinaire du 2 février 2018 à Casablanca. A compter de l’année 2018, toutes les indemnités des arbitres, désignés pour les matchs des compétitions de la Caf, seront prises en charge directement par la Caf.
