Le procès de l’ancien président de la CAF, Issa Hayatou, et de l’ancien secrétaire général, Hicham El Amrani, a été reporté au 16 avril par la Cour économique du Caire.
Les deux hommes sont accusés par la justice égyptienne d’avoir enfreint les règles locales de la concurrence, en signant un contrat avec la société française Lagardère Sports sur la gestion des droits et médias du football africain.
L’Autorité égyptienne de la concurrence (ECA) a ouvert en juin 2016 une enquête sur l’accord signé entre les deux parties, et est parvenue à sa conclusion en janvier 2017.
L’instance affirme que la CAF n’a proposé ces droits à aucune autre entreprise intéressée dans un cadre garantissant une concurrence libre et honnête.”
L’accord donne à Lagardere des droits sur une variété de compétitions de football africaines, y compris la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations de 2017 à 2028.
