Suite au rappel à Dieu du Khalife général des Mourides, Serigne Sidy Mokhtar Mbacké, le Magal de Porokhane, initialement prévu le 25 janvier est reporté au 22 février prochain. Ce Magal est célébré en hommage à Sokhna Diarra Bousso, la mère du fondateur du mouridisme Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba.
Dédié à une femme, ce Magal revêt dans la sociologie de la vie religieuse des sénégalais un caractère particulier d’autant qu’il exalte les vertus d’une croyante qui a voué son existence à l’adoration de son seigneur. Porokhane, une petite localité du Saloum sorti de l’anonymat par l’aura de Mame Diarra, draine à chaque édition des centaines de milliers de fidèles venus des quatre coins du monde.
