Dakar, 20 mars (APS) – Le député Moustapha Guirassy a invité mardi à Dakar les pouvoirs publics à apporter des solutions à “la pénurie d’eau à Kédougou”, une commune du sud-est du Sénégal dont il fut le maire.
“Au nom de la cohésion sociale, la Constitution sénégalaise et de votre devoir de préservation de la dignité humaine et des vies, je vous interpelle solennellement : Kédougou ne mérite pas de vivre plus longtemps ainsi privé d’eau courante et potable”, a dit Moustapha Guirassy.
Il tenait un point de presse sur “la pénurie d’eau à Kédougou”, histoire d’attirer l’attention des plus hautes autorités du Sénégal sur ce problème.
Selon M. Guirassy, originaire de Kédougou, “au moment où est chanté au peuple sénégalais, tous les jours, la litanie des exploits et des vertus du PSE, plus de 95% de la région de Kédougou stagne dans une pénurie d’eau courante et potable, inacceptable dans notre pays au 21e siècle”.
Le député estime que “l’inacceptable, c’est surtout l’indifférence affichée des autorités publiques face à ce lancinant problème qui assaille régulièrement les populations de cette région depuis quelques année déjà’’.
“Un pays qui postule à l’émergence à l’horizon 2035 ne peut pas se permettre le luxe d’être confronté à des problèmes aussi durables pour ce qui est de l’accès à des services de base, dont la puissance publique a l’obligation d’assurer la disponibilité en qualité en moindre coût pour tous”, a-t-il insisté.
