« Le gouvernement de la République du Sénégal a appris avec une vive indignation les propos outrageants et racistes contre Haïti et l’Afrique, tenus par le Président Donald Trump lors d’une réunion le 11 janvier 2018 à la Maison Blanche« , lit-on dans un communiqué émanant du ministère des Affaires étrangères.
« Le Gouvernement de la République du Sénégal dénonce et condamne fermement ces propos inacceptables qui portent atteinte à la dignité humaine, celle de l’Afrique et de sa diaspora en particulier, ainsi qu’à la coexistence pacifique et aux bonnes relations entre les peuples », ajoute la source.
Ainsi, « sur instructions de SEM le Président Macky Sall », l’ambassadeur des États-Unis à Dakar a été convoqué ce vendredi 12 janvier 2018 par le ministre des Affaires étrangères et des Sénégalais de l’Extérieur, Me Sidiki Kaba, qui lui a « formellement remis » une note de protestation du Sénégal.
