Des propos qui “ont fait mal” à l’international sénégalais. Durant son match d’entrée, contre le Cap-Vert, Mbaye Niang a fait la différence en créant de nettes occasions de but. Sur le chemin du retour à Dakar, il a parlé au micro de la Radio Sénégal internationale.
“Ca m’a fait beaucoup de plaisir de porter le maillot sénégalais. C’est le pays de mes parents, de mes grands-parents. C’est un match que mes parents auraient aimé voir. Leur petit-fils avec le maillot du Sénégal… Je leur dédie ce match”, a-t-il dit fièrement.
A ceux qui l’ont critiqué, il répond : “les critiques et les insultes m’ont fait mal. Aujourd’hui j’ai répondu sur le terrain. C’est ce qui importe”.
