La Chine est, avec plus de 400 magasins, le second marché de l’enseigne Auchan derrière la France. En signant un partenariat avec le géant chinois de l’Internet, l’enseigne française compte y accélérer encore son développement.
Avec 446 magasins et 140.000 employés, Auchan est l’un des leaders du commerce physique en Chine. L’enseigne française de grande distribution devrait encore prendre un nouvel élan en signant une «alliance stratégique» avec le géant du commerce en ligne chinois Alibaba.
L’entreprise chinoise, propriété du milliardaire Jack Ma, va investir 2,44 Mds€ dans Sun Art Retail Group, l’un des principaux exploitants d’hypermarchés en Chine, dont Auchan possède déjà plus du tiers du capital.
Selon le communiqué des deux entreprises, l’objectif est de mettre en place une complémentarité entre le commerce traditionnel dans les hypermarchés et le commerce sur Internet.
«La nouvelle alliance permettra à l’ensemble des activités de Sun Art de bénéficier de l’écosystème digital d’Alibaba», expliquent les deux groupes. Si Auchan est déjà présent en Chine sur Internet avec la vente de vins, l’enseigne française va profiter de la force de frappe d’Alibaba sur les autres produits alimentaires.
Un marché en croissance et un enjeu stratégique
La Chine est devenue son second marché juste derrière la France avec près d’un tiers de son chiffre d’affaires. Et c’est un marché en croissance. Depuis le début de l’année, Sun Art a engrangé un bénéfice de l’ordre de 320 M€, en hausse de 20 % par rapport à la même période précédente.
Toutefois, pour les dirigeants, il est encore possible de faire encore progresser rapidement le chiffre d’affaires grâce à Internet et à de nouveaux concepts de magasins.
