Le Gouvernement a décidé d’intensifier le plan de mise en oeuvre du Programme de modernisation des villes du Sénégal «PROMOVILLES» en accordant la priorité aux travaux prévus dans les zones péri urbaines et localités enclavées insuffisamment dotées en infrastructures et équipements primaires. C’est une manière d’améliorer durablement la qualité de vie des populations en milieu urbain. Les autorités veulent désormais orienter leurs actions vers la construction de nouvelles routes urbaines et le renforcement de l’assainissement des communes et villes. Elles accélèrent le pas pour la réalisation de la boucle du Boudié, la reconstruction des marchés Syndicat de Pikine et Zinc de Kaolack, les travaux de construction des nouveaux lycées de Ngor et de Yoff, ainsi que les chantiers d’assainissement et d’aménagement de Yeumbeul Nord, de Malika et de Keur Massar.
