L’équipe de Diambars, qui fait une première partie de saison difficile, est sortie pour la première fois de la zone de relégation à la faveur de son nul (1-1) contre le Jaraaf combiné à la lourde défaite (1-4) de Niary Tally face à Génération Foot, pour le compte de la 16 ème journée de Ligue 1 de football.
Le point pris contre l’équipe de la Médina permet à Diambars de rejoindre la 12 ème et première place de non relégable. Niary Tally rechute pour sa part un nouveau revers et fait désormais partie des trois équipes devant lutter jusqu’à la fin de la saison pour sauver leur place parmi l’élite.
Avec la réintégration de l’US Ouakam, trois équipes sont appelées à descendre en Ligue 2 sénégalaise à la fin de la saison. Outre l’US Ouakam (3 points), dernier du classement mais avec sept rencontres en retard, le Guédiawaye FC (6 points en 15 matchs) est également sous la menace d’une relégation.
