La réduction des délais des marchandises au por
En dépit des efforts entrepris pour réduire les délais de passage des marchandises au port de Douala, la principale place portuaire du Cameroun qui concentre plus de 95% du volume des exportations et des importations du pays avec plus de 80% du trafic de la Centrafrique et du Tchad, beaucoup reste à faire pour rendre plus compétitive cette infrastructure portuaire à vocation sous-régionale. À en croire Nicolas Peltier-Thiberge, directeur du secteur transport pour l’Afrique centrale et de l’Ouest à la Banque mondiale, «si on voit tout ce qui a été réalisé au niveau du port de Douala, des administrations, de la douane, du guichet unique, tous les efforts pour réduire les délais de passage portuaire, le temps de passage d’un container qui arrive au port de Douala est relativement long par rapport à d’autres ports africains», a-t-il indiqué. La mission de la Banque mondiale qui a visité les installations portuaires et pu suivre les explications sur les nouveaux services en ligne du GUCE qui facilitent la vie aux opérateurs économiques a pu découvrir le processus de traitement des déclarations douanières exigées aux usagers. t de Douala est au centre des préoccupations de la Banque mondiale dont une mission d’experts vient de séjourner fin mars 2017 au Cameroun.
