Me Abdoulaye Wade qui a avoué qu’il ne peut plus, à son âge, être candidat à la présidentielle, n’écarte pas de conduire une liste aux élections législatives, même s’il s’est voulu très flou. «Il n’y a aucune disposition qui m’empêche d’être tête de liste d’une coalition. J’ai dit à mes militants que je voulais m’écarter de ces activités. Mais, rien ne m’empêche de le faire», a laissé entendre Wade. Et de poursuivre qu’il ne rechignera pas, «si sa présence dans une liste peut aider moralement les gens…». «Au moment où je parle, c’est une question qui est discutée dans le parti et dans le Front Mankoo wàtu Senegaal. Mais, je n’ai pris aucune décision», a juré l’ancien président de la répu- blique. Par ailleurs, le prédécesseur du Président Macky Sall a rassuré ses militants qu’il sera bientôt à Dakar pour soutenir ses partisans et alliés. «Je vais rentrer avant l’ouverture de la campagne électorale, inch’Allah, pour soutenir mes militants. Je suis encore le Secrétaire général du Parti démocratique sénégalais (Pds)», a-t-il déclaré. Même s’il ne précise pas la date du retour de son fils, l’ancien président de la république qui l’a quitté «il y a 48 heures», informe qu’il se porte à merveille. revenant sur les inscriptions sur les listes électorales, Me Wade s’est dit «particulièrement impressionné» par le rush des Sénégalais qui s’inscrivent à Paris. «Il y a un engouement populaire. On a l’impression que les gens se ré- veillent pour se rendre compte qu’ils doivent voter. C’est une prise de conscience et parmi ceux que je vois, il y a beaucoup de jeunes. C’est une bonne chose», a chanté le père de Karim Wade. «Mes regrets» Mais, malgré sa joie, il a re- gretté que les Sénégalais ne s’inscrivent pas beaucoup dans les consulats. «Je suis sûr qu’il y a près de 200 mille Sénéga- lais en France ; mais, ceux qui s’inscrivent dans les consulats sont peut-être dans les 80 mille», relève-t-il. L’ancien chef de l’État de- mande à ses compatriotes d’al- ler s’inscrire dans les consulats. Parce que c’est non seulement une garantie de sécurité pour «soi-même», mais encore un devoir d’aller voter. Il rappelle d’ailleurs que, quand il était dans le gouvernement d’Abdou Diouf, il plaidait pour le vote «obligatoire» faute de quoi on subit une amende, comme ça se fait dans certains pays. Mais, on m’a dit que c’était peut- être très tôt», a-t-il rapporté
